Extended Stay America consistently receives negative feedback regarding cleanliness and pest infestations, particularly cockroaches. While some guests praise the friendliness of staff like Keisha and Carmen, recurring issues with room conditions and outdated facilities detract from the overall experience. Location is a minor positive, but overshadowed by significant operational problems.
Watch out for roaches. This hotel is old and not kept up. I was shocked for the price I paid per room how run down this place was. I did complain about live roaches in one of the 3 rooms I booked and they let me switch the room but I found a dead one in another room the next day. This place is not worth the price, I can’t imagine living in this hotel as it appears many do. I certainly would not have food in such a room
I visited this hotel and my first impression was terrible! My husband and I arrived at 12am, we booked a room at around 11:20 pm, when we got there the girl working the front desk advised that there weren’t any rooms that we booked. She gave us a double bed, which was fine, but the problems arrived afterwards. We went to our car and got all of our stuff, we were on the third floor room 304, there was no elevator. We walked three floors with many bags, and as soon as we got to the top floor, it smelled sooo bad. Almost like cigarettes and a strong curry. I entered the room and it smelled almost like feces. I look on the counter and see a bug run across, with a closer look I saw that it was a roach. This completely freaked me out, and in another second, there were 3 more baby roaches. Where there’s one there’s hundreds more. We made our back downstairs and talked to the employee. We advised that there were roaches, of which we had video, and she let us know that she knows there’s roaches. We asked her how long this has been going on and she said she’s been working there for about 6 months, and 5 of those she realized there were roaches. She told us that she let the managers know months before multiple times and they haven’t done anything about it. It’s disgusting. Another thing, when we made our way downstairs there was a man smoking a cigarette at the very bottom of the stairs. I didn’t think anything of it until my husband and I went outside and there were people standing around that looked like they didn’t have the best intentions. This entire hotel needs to be bug bombed or shut down. This is the kind of thing you see in Vallejo, definitely not Vacaville. Get it together.
This was an accidental holiday, we went to UC Davis Small Animal ER and too tired to drive home, I stopped at the Extended Stay in Vacaville. Clean rooms, very inexpensive too. If you are lucky enough to have “Keisha” as your Guest Services Rep, you are in for a treat! She has a photographic memory for names, humans and animals! She is gifted with a magnificent personality, full of life, a smiling welcoming person to greet me. Keep Keisha happy with raises and responsibilities! Lucky to have her on board! Happy New Year!
Overall really don’t have a problem here at this location , the staff is friendly and welcoming but today for some reason that wasn’t the vibe. I was in the middle of packing my stuff to head out for the day like I usually do because I’m a college student who’s still looking for affordable housing, and usually I bring most of my stuff in during the night because I don’t like making multiple trips to the car. But for some reason the House keeping felt the need to bug me and knock on the door to ask if I’m leaving…. Like why does housekeeping need to ask me ? Can’t they ask the front desk whether I paid for another night or not? The only question appropriate to ask as if I need housekeeping room service or not . I don’t like feeling like I’m being rushed out of the room especially if I’m packing. It just seems un professional and rude . I know people like to over stay their welcome and try to squat but I’m not that type of guest so I shouldn’t be treated as such especially if the room for the night is almost $200 for weekend rates .
I booked a few days here 2 years ago and enjoyed the experience a lot. Came because of kitchenette and utensils. Stayed for the kind and courteous staff. When I booked again this Thanksgiving weekend, I was miserable and took all I had to keep it together. Pros: all front desk staff are patient, courteous and helpful. I hope to G*d corporate pays all of them a proper living wage. Cons: horrific bug infestation in Rm 223, they are all over the place all the time-crawling up the walls, inspecting the stove and kitchenette counter even after I wipe it clean, scrounging for water and skin cells after I showered; dirty computer chairs, moth- or roach-eaten lounge chair; holes and other damages in corners from which bugs emerge; incredibly inconvenient "free" wi-fi that holds me hostage unless I "upgrade" by paying $1=1 hour or $5=1day or it will not connect. It re-sets after choosing an "upgrade" and I DO get charged on my room account; in-room phone does not work (continuous dial tone), so I have to go down to front desk to tell them in person to delete wifi charge EACH and EVERY DAY; tech services says this system is normal. Hint: It it NOT NORMAL. Laundry machine took my card for payment, but dryer payment system mysteriously went OFFLINE!!! Front desk only accepts cash bills in exchange for coins, I had to drive to convenience store in the middle of the night while still tired from travel, to go get quarters, otherwise I had a tub full of wet clothes in the dryer that would stink by morning.
The location of the hotel is great, close to the Vacaville Premium Outlets, and a bunch of places to eat. Good parking size, so you shouldn't have any issue with that. The rooms are big and spacious, with refrigerator and cooktop, but we noticed some stains on the floor, and I'm pretty sure I saw a cockroach. The lady at the front desk was amazing, super friendly and helpful. And the check-in/out process was really fast. The breakfast is simple but they mention that on their website, so it wasn't a surprise.
Lady at front desk was awesome. I was on mushrooms and she was super kind and understanding, allowing us to check in without a hitch. However, the lady working today upon checkout tried to tell me that the room smelled like fresh cigarette smoke, when actually neither of us smoke. When we first walked into the room it reeked like stale ash tray, even though it's a non smoking room. Worst 120$ I've ever spent. Disappointed to say the least. Roaches everywhere. Horrible experience, minus the mushrooms.
The staff is great, the Gina at the front desk really helped us getting any problems solved and the others are friendly and helpful. Carmen does an amazing job at keeping the rooms in tip top shape, works hard and is super friendly. David the maintenance guy is quick to get any of your needs met and the new manager is outstanding. We have a great room with all the amenities. It's quite in a great location .
I stayed here a while ago when I came for an interview. Overall, it’s good for temporary living, but I did notice a few hairs and stains on the towels. The front desk staff were warm, and it’s convenient to access the surrounding stores
Recently stayed for 2 weeks. When I first went into the room I wiped all surfaces and air conditioner with a Lysol wipe. Much to my surprise there was no dirt on the wipe . The room was very clean. The people were very helpful and polite. I would recommend this place for anyone.
